You have several types of equipments necessary for fashioning the image in required size. Take a look at some of the crucial equipments you would need for macro photography:

  • Macro lens – These are special-purpose lenses known as macro lenses with a long barrel, which is used for, close focusing. When optimized to the magnification of 1:1 macro lenses provide excellent photos. To bring forth the structures of small insects eye, snowflakes, or any other minute object, you can use the macro lenses with magnification up to 5:1 macro.
  • You can use macro lenses with different focal lengths depending on the type of subject you are shooting, for minuscule objects you can use 50-60mm range, for insects or flowers 90-105mm range and for small animals 150-200mm range.
  • Extension tube- It is placed between the camera body and the lens. The tube’s main function is to move the lens farther from the film or digital sensor. The more the distance of lens from the sensor or film, the closer the focusing distance and the darker the image.
  • Reversing ring – It is used for reversing the lens. The ring is attached to the filter thread on the front of a lens and through this it is possible to attach the lens in reverse. The reversing rings in some of the cameras allow almost all camera function, including open aperture metering.
