So this blog doesn’t die because of me not posting (I’m veeery busy, i truly am), I’ve gathered some pictures of a recent small photography shooting with Anja.
I’ve chosen a urban like environment for her since she’s more of a Grunge, ska/punk, skater style of a girl and she also likes to point her middle finger for a reason i don’t understand. ![]()
I must admit that this was my first shooting where i was taken portrait pictures and i learned a lot from it too. Here are some things I’ve learned from it for the future photography:
- You need to take take and slowly photograph the subject. Rushing things isn’t that helpful.
In this time of the year, the sun goes down at around 17.00 so i had to hurry. - When shooting in a garage where there are low light situations you need a flash or more of them, a light stand and maybe even a tripod for the camera.
- If your subject is half shaded/half lit by a direct sun, you’re kinda screwed.
Overexposing underexposing didn’t help me here much. - Putting the subject in shade and changing your position for a step or two makes the image a whole lot of different.
- Garages really stink of urine… they really do and i hate it… a lot
And here are some of the pics, more can be found on flickr.

Nice shots, very vibrant! Shot #4 is my favorite-looks like the model is lost in a memory there. Really nice, love the Z in the background.
