It’s been about a month now since a computer store is setting up my new pc. The 1Ghz one i’m using now is getting rusty. And tommorow they said i can come ang get the new pc… But i have second thoughts, why? Well i gave them the setup i want/need for my work, but there were problems…
Every couple of years i buy a new personal computer. And each time i have problems when i want to buy something. The company i will be talking about is known to be the best one around…
And now, when asked around the forums, read reviews and know exactly what i need and what will work, the computer store is being a real pain in the ass. They first had trouble with the 320Gb hard drive… so i waited A WEEK so they can get one… than they ran out of the graphic card i wanted to have. So i have choseen a better and pricier one…
After that one got to the store and they put it in, there was another problem
They, said, that the chip on the Gainward Bliss Nvidia 7900gt wasn’t compatible with the motherboard. The motherboard (Sli compatible) was one of the best they had to offer, but they didn’t want to give me details of the model etc. Which was interesting… again, i had to wait until they get the new card… When it arived, they got me a Gigabyte 7900Gt… so i googled around and found out, that it has only 256mb of memory on it… the Gainward Bliss one had 512MB…
So tommorow i will take a look what they made up with it… allthough i don’t think i will buy it yet and i don’t really care if it will piss them off. It’s my money and i know what i need for work. Oh and also, they said that my specification was for NASA computers… Which showed me how they have no idea what are they talking about. I also asked around and found out, that at this company only "spoiled kids with rich parents" work… I should double quote that "Work" though since they don’t do anything right. They just sit there.
So now i’m thinking of buying components from various shops and build my own computer. It can’t be that hard can it? There are numerous of guides on how to build your own machine and as for compatibility, you can’t put a square object into a round hole… Right?
