It’s been more than 2 years since my last post here… i’ve been working for an advertising agency in that time where i learned things and got some nice experience while working with great people…

It was time to move on as i reached the decision to start my own journey and this time for real as i’m thinking of starting a one man studio of visual bliss. So the new website, portfolio etc. should be finished in the summer.

Orbis ring flash adapter and a little mod

I’ve got the Orbis ring flash half and hour ago and i love it! It is really well made and light. The first thing i did was to check if it will fit my Nikon 17-55 lens and it did. After that i’ve put the flash in and wanted to know how will it mount on it. Well the problem is that the flash (used a sb-800) was too heavy and it was sliding out. Holding these 2 things in 1 hand and the heavy dslr in the other is really clumsy.

At that point i knew i don’t like shooting with something, that will take my mind of the model and the actually shooting since i would need to watch out that the flash doesn’t fall down. So i figured i’d do it with a little mod. I just added the Velcro tape and done. It’s also easy to take the flash out/put in.

Now even if i shake it really hard it doesn’t fall down. The Orbis ring flash is really well made so i don’t think it will break because of the weight of the flash. Easy and cheap mod. Maybe the Orbis guys should put some Velcro tape in the box?

It’s a great light modifier and i’ll be having a lot of fun with it.

He was all over the internet and the news, i think even Cnn a while back. Matthew Harding became famous with his “crazy dance”. Not only that, but he visited about 42 and recorded himself doing that exact same dance over and over again in all those countries.

And on that way, he met a lot of people that helped him. As i remember he made arrangements to also meet people and record the dance with them over forums etc. It was a really nice project. I have seen it before just not in HD which makes a big difference!

There is a lot of heart in this video from all around the world. And it kinda makes you think about the positive things and feelings. It makes you happy. that’s it, end of story

I know you’ll really enjoy viewing his video and it may even bring couple of good smiles to your face.

Today’s post will be something different, i figured i’d show you less videos of other people and their work, and instead show you more of mine. But i’ll still post other stuff, just that i’ll be a bit more pickier. After a hard day of work, i took about an hour for myself (that was just for designing the graphic design below, rendering took couple of hours more).

I’ve closed msn and all those chat things that could bother me and put up the Kanye West album Graduation. The song Flashing lights helped me get ideas and creativity so it’s in the video to hear. I fasten the video about 10x so you wouldn’t be looking at it for an hour but just as long as the music plays.

Although i noticed i could have left the last frame up for couple of seconds. So below are also the images of the final product and a 100% zoom to view the details.

Artists genious creativity got out

I love how creative people put out their ideas in such a way that they can change the world. And today, designers do that one pixel at a time. They get inspiration even from Scary movie… Remember that wassssaap? I think we all do… But here’s a video that happens 8 years after. And it’s amazing… the best thing comes at the end though! Share such good things!

Almost winter with the touch of my graphic design

I know i haven’t been posting couple of days and i really feel bad for it but i was kinda to tired since i’ve been working a lot and was having classes. It’s hard to work on 5 projects and keep every client happy, but since i’ve been doing a good job everything is going really nice. Still a lot of things to do though but after days of work i’m still motivated and full of ideas.

So after another day of hard work on my graphic design projects, i took some time for myself and did something i sketched a day before. I call it “Almost winter” and is a practice of the composition and i really like how it came out.

I have mixed feeling about this product. This is a really amazing software that let’s you create 3D models with a graphic tablet, it’s fast and really accurate. You really interact with your model. Check out this video.

As you see it is easier and a lot faster to create models this way, but the problem is, that you need drawing skills for this and if you don’t have them, your models would become a bit odd. Now the people who know how to draw should have it easy to create models. But will the others that don’t be left with no work? Illustrators draw characters on paper, 3D modelers make the models, so 2 people do this things and if we teach one of them the other skill or technique, one of them may get fired and the other one would do work for 2 but would get payed for only 1 person. That’s the problem with technology. But overall it is a amazing software.

Sony Bravia and a city made of domino

Quite some time ago, Sony promoted their Bravia lcd’s with a really unique ad where they used a lot of paint that was blown up all around the place somewhere in Great Britain. It was a big event where a lot of people came to the place and were looking at how the ad was made. It had absolutely no CG in it.

Today Sony made a new ad for promotion of the Bravia LCD’s with their known slogan “Colors like no other”. This time they used domino to make it look really good. I didn’t check out if this was made with real domino parts but i think it’s Coputer Generated (CG).

Anyway again, they have made a impressive ad that gets a lot of buzz over the internet. I love all these colors and how each domino block has it’s own color.
