Kinds and methods of Search Engine Optimization

I’ll be getting you a nice step forward in the world of SEO today and will be talking a bit more about the kinds and methods of search engine optimization. First let’s talk a bit about the methods.

Methods of SEO

There are 3 methods of seo that can be used to make you site rank better, these are:

• White Hat SEO
• Black HAT SEO
• Gray Hat SEO

I will be reviewing each of these below so at the end you will be able to determine which one is for you and what you think is the best method for you. I will also show you my opinions and experience with these methods.

White Hat SEO method

This is the most popular method in my opinion. It is pretty easy to use and if done right, ranking will last for a looooong time. This is a long-term method of seo which means, you will need time and a lot of it, to make a successful and powerful site. This method is a clean method meaning google will love it. Applying the right off-page and on-page optimization techniques (more over this in my next post) won’t ban or penalize your site in the Search engines.

These kind of sites are becoming more and more stronger over the time and you play this game safely. Also the Google or other search engine algorithm changes won’t be affecting these kind of sites much. Content is added daily and is unique which google also likes.

Your effort with white hat sites is seen in your traffic. Also, your site get’s brand able with time goes by and people come back, bookmark your site and a snowball effect is created. With time, your sites and income grows. This way, you give to the internet quality content and hard work and google likes that.

Black Hat SEO method

This method is more for the “Dark Side” users and are mostly also known as SPAM techniques. The method is easy to understand, if 1 site with 10 articles can get 10 hits per day and you could make $0.50 per day, 1000 sites with 10 articles can get 10000 hits per day you could make $500 per day. It’s a easy formula and it does work… BUT, how would you make 1000 sites? each with 10 unique articles? etc.

The answer is… get it automated. There are softwares available that make all the work for you. Buy domains, setup the scripts, link exchanges, make content stolen or scraped for other sites using your keyword list etc. You just need to have money to invest in domains, hosting etc.

The biggest problem is, these methods can be SPAM or eve nillegal when stealing other peoples copyright content etc. So your domains/hosting WILL be suspended and google WILL ban and remove your sites from it’s index. The question is only how long will it take google to do it. Some times couple of days, maybe a week, depends on your skills as a black hat seo.

You may have also asked yourself now: “why is this method then good if i don’t have any sites/income after a while?” Well the answer is also kinda simple. Black hat seo is a short-term spam technique people use. But, they make hundreds or even thousands of these kind of SITES PER DAY. But it seems it pays off really good to some people.

So this method isn’t good for branding, since making a logo or a well designed page costs money and if it gets removed/banned these kind of webmasters lose money so, they just make plain sites with ads or banners on them. The content has no quality and can only be read by search engine spiders, humans can’t read them since a paragraph from 10 or more sites can’t be that easily connected and be readable.

These sites also get removed and lose rankings on each search engine algorithm update. Also investing daily hundreds of dollars in domains can be a pain in the a**.

I personally don’t like or use this method, i like to play it by rules and not to try to cheat search engines.

Gray HAT seo

The third method is gray hat seo and it is a technique that uses a mix of both black hat and white hat seo. It isn’t pretty stable like doing the seo the white way, but it can bring some good results quite a bit longer than black hat. There are quite some combinations with these methods applied.

My opinions on seo

I personally use and think the best method is white hat. It takes time, but it can bring you a lot more income and results after time, just look at youtube for example. it used white hat techniques, played by the rules and is a big hit! Today it’s worth billions $ and it’s only couple of years old. it’s also brandable and a huge number of people know it and use it too.
