I’ve just got a new email from the chrisg.com feed. He just got his 1000s comment which is a really nice achievement. I’ve been reading his blog for quite some time now and i love his posts.
Now comments are a great way for getting free, new, and unique content to your site. This equals more traffic. Now Chris is writing really good articles (he has about 1600 readers just over Feedburner), so he gets a lot of comments daily. Now in my case, i don’t get much of them… And this is a problem that a lot of bloggers have.
Now when i was commenting on his blog i got a pretty good idea. Why now give a present or a reward for very 500 or 1000 posts? And give the person who’s made that a little gift.
I’d go with a t-shirt gift with the logo and url to my blog. And give it out to every 100th post. This would have lot’s of effects, the winner will be glad to have a nice new shirt, i’ll be glad that he’ll wear it and people will see it, see my logo and see the url to my blog… Making long term brand awareness for a price of a t-shirt.
